Job Title: Chemical Process EngineerJob Description We are seeking an experienced Chemical Process Engineer to provide technical assistance and ensure efficient and cost-effective operations within our facility. The role involves troubleshooting current operations, training associates, and collaborating with the EHS Manager to meet safety and operational standards. Responsibilities + Review plant operations daily to ensure efficient and safe production of quality products. + Provide engineering support for production and maintenance activities. + Perform engineering analysis to reduce downtime and outages. + Identify, evaluate, and implement improvements to plant operations. + Develop operating instructions and provide training and guidance to plant employees. + Troubleshoot operational issues to minimize downtime. + Complete root cause analyses for process upsets and safety incidents. + Complete and review designs, P&IDs, and other documents to ensure proper equipment operation. + Create and maintain current plant and process documentation. + Review process changes with the EHS Manager to ensure compliance with requirements. + Provide technical specifications for purchasing equipment. + Follow all safety procedures and practices. + Participate in incident/accident investigations and plant safety reviews or committees. + Generate technical reports on plant performance, equipment performance, operating rates, and efficiency. + Perform any other related duties assigned by management to support overall business operations. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field. + Minimum of 5 years of technical experience with a degree, or 15 years without a degree. + Chemical engineering expertise with skills in hazard analysis, P&ID, ISO standards, and root cause analysis. + Experience with Aspen Plus, DTF, and PowerBI. + Ability to be medically cleared to wear a respirator. + Ability to lift 50 lbs. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Chlor-Alkali experience is highly preferred. + Exposure to ISO standards and audits. Work Environment The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 5 pm, with availability required for emergencies and weekends. The plant employs approximately 80 people and you will work alongside the production engineer, project engineer, plant manager, and COO. The company is under new management with plans to build out 8 new plants in the next 10 years, offering significant growth opportunities.
