Job Summary

We are now looking for an experienced Food Safety professional, with expertise in aseptic processing and packaging, who can take the role as Food Safety Regulatory Officer in our Food & Equipment Safety organization within Tetra Pak Processing Solutions & Equipment in U.S. and Canada. You will have an important role working with regulatory and legal compliance per all U.S. food laws and regulations as applicable to Tetra Pak US & Canada’s installed Tetra Pak® aseptic filling & packaging machine base. 
You can be based anywhere in the United States but preferred to relocate to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.  
You may be required to travel up to 25% of your time regionally / globally.

What you will do


As a Food Safety Regulatory Officer you will: 

  • Provide competent advice, technical support, and training to Tetra Pak personnel and our Tetra Pak customers.
  • Work with and support customer account, technical, field service and project managers during Tetra Pak Filling Machine Installation Projects, ensuring the Tetra Pak Filling Machine Equipment Qualification Program (EQP) is conducted accordingly.  
  • Support all Capital Equipment Tetra Pak filling machine installation projects, including regulatory compliance reviews and issuance of official approval letters.
  • Support with EQP document orders (processing, handling & shipping) for both domestic (Tetra Pak US&CA Market Company) and international (Tetra Pak Global for U.S. Import purposes) Tetra Pak filling machine customers.  
  • Perform calibration reviews for food safety concerns.
  • Review and update internal Tetra Pak documents as needed.
  • Be active on Tetra Pak’s Global 3-A Alignment Team, ensuring continued conformance with 3-A Sanitary Standards & 3-A Third Party Verification (TPV) requirements for authorization to display the 3-A symbol on installed Tetra Pak Filling Machines.
  • Provide support for international Tetra Pak Filling Machine customers who import aseptic food products to the U.S. market.
  • Support with Process Authority regulatory activities for existing Tetra Pak Filling Machine designs & next generation Tetra Pak Filling Machine validation & U.S. FDA filing projects.
  • Support the Tetra Pak Process Authority with Process Deviation evaluations and issuance of Product Disposition Letters.  
  • Support with Process Authority regulatory compliance oversight for key Tetra Pak strategic projects and serve as an expert Tetra Pak reference resource for U.S. food laws and regulations and in aseptic technology principles and best practices.
  • Attend professional and industry conferences as a representative of Tetra Pak. 

We believe you have

  • Bachelor´s Degree in Engineering or related field (Agricultural, Chemical, Food Science and Technology, Food Microbiology or similar). Master´s Degree is considered a plus.
  • A minimum 10 years of food industry experience with working knowledge and practical experience in food manufacturing, product formulation and development, process safety, and thermal process development.
  • Actual experience working in food manufacturing and food facility environments is preferred.
  • A thorough understanding and command of the written U.S. Food Laws & Regulations, specific to food manufacturing.  
  • Good leadership and communication skills with high informal authority, and ability to effectively interact across intercompany organizations and with our Tetra Pak customers.
  • The ability to write professional letters, advisories and technical documents is required
  • A working knowledge and implementation of thermal process calculations, aseptic processes, software programs and food packaging a plus.
  • Must be comfortable in taking tough positions and communicating difficult decisions with customers.  
  • Excellent communication skills and are very proficient in English, both written and verbal.

Pay Equity

Tetra Pak provides the following compensation range that in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Ranges are determined by role, level and location. Within the range, individual pay is defined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. 
This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule. The estimate displayed is just one component of Tetra Pak's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include annual performance bonus, competitive benefits, and work-related allowances. 

  • Annual Base Salary Range (ABS): $ 100,100.00 USD - Max of 157,100.00 USD
  • Short-term Incentive/Bonus (Variable Pay): Eligible to performance incentive of 10% of ABS
