Under the supervision of the Assistant Executive Officer, the Enforcement Investigator conducts diverse criminal, civil, and administrative investigations of licensed hygienists and dental hygiene educational programs in conjunction with the Board's educational specialist. Regularly communicates with the Attorney General's Office in discussing enforcement cases; contacts licensees, supervisors, patients, witnesses, stakeholders, and others to gather information and evidence for case investigations.

Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview. However, they must reside in the State of California once they are hired and start working.
The position requires the incumbent to work Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Telework options may be available in the future once the candidate is acquainted with the position and the Board's policies and procedures and completes probation. Occasional travel is expected to conduct interviews and gather evidence or information in the course of investigations. May also participate in dental hygiene educational program site visits to address complaints.The position(s) require(s) a valid driver's license (DL). Provide a photocopy in PDF format of the front and back of your DL, clearly showing your name as stated on the license, issuing state, DL number, class, and expiration.

Title 11, section 703(d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). Pursuant to this requirement, applicants for this position will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring. In accordance with DCA's CORI procedures, clearance shall be maintained while employed in a CORI -designated position. Additionally, the incumbent routinely works with sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of documents and topics pertaining to individuals or to sensitive program matters at all times.
This position is subject to Title 16, section 3830 of the California Code of Regulations, the Department of Consumer Affairs' Conflict of Interest Regulations. The incumbent is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1, and within 30 days of leaving office.
